Former Ivory Coast International Yaya Toure, has passed a medical at a London club and is set to sign for them in the nearest future.
The Premier League winner was let go by Manchester City at the end of last season after he was forced to play a bit-part role in Manchester City’s swashbuckling grab of the Premier League title.
The 35-year-old is “close to signing a new contract”, the player’s agent has claimed.
It will not be West Ham as Manuel Pellegrini dismissed rumours that the two would be reuniting two weeks ago.
Toure’s agent tweeted: “Toure has passed a medical in London,
“Yaya is close to signing a new contract.”
It is unlikely to be a Premier League club as the transfer window for Premier League clubs is already closed so it is speculated that it might be a championship team located in London.
Yaya Toure fell out of favour with Pep Guardiola and even accused his former manager of bias against African people, a claim that Guardiola was quick to challenge saying, “It’s a lie and he [Toure] knows it.”
The Ivorian spent 3 very successful years at Barcelona before he was snapped up by Manchester City where he spent a further 8 years before his departure this summer.
