You are a little man and a fake – Conte blasts Mourinho

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte has described his Manchester United counterpart, Jose Mourinho as a “little man” and a “fake”.

This is the latest in the war of words between the duo.

Trouble started when Mourinho said that journalists were misconstruing his refusal to act like a “clown on the touchline” as a sign that he had lost interest in the game.

Many observers described the comment as a jibe at the Chelsea man, who is popular for his animated behaviour on the touchline.

Conte then described Mourinho as suffering from “senile dementia” for forgetting how he used to behave as a younger manager.

This did not go down well with the Portuguese, who said that he had never been banned for match fixing like his Italian counterpart.

As manager of Juventus in 2013, Conte was banned for four months for failing to report match fixing at his former club Siena. An Italian court later cleared him of any wrongdoing and overturned the ban.

Conte, however, won’t take the accusation lying low, describing Mourinho as a little man and a fake who takes advantage of others.

He said, “The truth is that I was banned for four months for failure to report. Then I asked for a real trial by a court and they declared my innocence.

“I think before you make this type of comment, to hurt another person, you must pay great attention. You show you are a little man. A little man. You don’t know very well what is the situation.

“But I know him very well in the past. In the past he was a little man in many circumstances he is a little man in the present and for sure he will be a little man in the future.

“Mourinho is this. You know him very well. The level is very low. I repeat: I think before you speak you have to know very well what happened.”

He also accused Mourinho of lacking integrity for ridiculing former Chelsea and Leicester manager, Claudio Ranieri.

“I remember a stupid example with Ranieri when he offended Ranieri for his English,” he stated.

“Then when Ranieri was sacked he put on a shirt for Ranieri. You are a fake.

“If you want to fight a person you try to kill this person. And then after two years you try to help this person because maybe it’s good for you, for your profile.”
