The new Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, has described outgoing Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose as an “armed robber”.
He made this known at a mega rally of the party in Ekiti on Tuesday in preparation for Saturday’s gubernatorial election in the state.
President Muhammadu Buhari flew in from Abuja to attend the rally.
Oshiomhole, the immediate-past governor of Edo State, urged Ekiti people to forsake Fayose and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the upcoming election, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka.
The party boss accused Fayose of resorting to primitive antics to win the election at all costs.
He said part of the antics involved bribing road transport workers to park their vehicles in order to make it difficult for people to attend the APC rally.
He said, “Fayose abuses everybody. He is a typical armed robber who diverts attention of the police in order to escape.
“Fayose also gave an unlawful order asking all shops and markets to close today. He has also called workers to monitor workers’ vote to know who is voting for APC. The fighting spirit of Ekiti people overcame all the obstacles created by a man.’’
He appealed to the people to massively support the APC candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
