The Head of the Police Public Complaints Rapid Response Unit (PCRRU), ACP Abayomi Shogunle, has warned internet fraudsters popularly called “Yahoo Yahoo Boyz” to go “legit” or there will be no hiding place for them.
Shogunle issued the warning via his verified Twitter handle on Saturday morning.
Recall that the Lagos Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had on Friday busted Club 57, Ikoyi, Lagos, where at least 12 suspected Yahoo-Yahoo Boyz were rounded up and ten exotic cars belonging to them were seized.
The commission vowed to charge the suspects to court at the conclusion of investigations.
Apparently, some Yahoo Yahoo Boyz have started relocating from the state to avoid arrest and prosecution.
But Shogunle warned, “To All Yahoo Yahoo Boyz relocating from Lagos State because of fear of going to jail over #FinancialCrime:
You can run 🏃♀️ but you can’t hide, the long arm of the law will catch up with you anywhere you run to as long as you indulge in illegal activities.
