You Must Appear Before Us In Uniform – Senate To Customs Boss, Hameed Ali

The face-off between the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Services, Hameed Ali and the Nigerian senate has deepened after the customs boss declared he was appointed into the office to work and not his uniform.

Recall that the Customs boss had in a chat with Channels TV maintained that he was appointed to work and not his uniform when asked why he has never worn the customs uniform since 2015 when he was appointed into office.

He further maintained that he would not be wearing any uniform as he was not appointed to wear Uniform.

The Nigerian senate which had earlier summoned him to appear before the house in his uniform has in response taken its stand directing the NCS boss to appear before the house in his unform tomorrow.

The stand was taken after the letter addressed to the floor of the Nigerian senate by teh Customs boss was read to the house,.

Hameed Ali in the letter had informed the senate of his inability to appear before the house tomorrow owing to an NCSC meeting scheduled for tomorrow.

Following the reading of the letter, the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki who allowed from inputs from the floor members decided that the Customs boss must appear before the house tomorrow and in his uniform.

The senate’s invitation of the Customs boss is connected with the latest development in the agency which allows for its operatives to sanction owners of new vehicles whose import duties were not paid.
