Your Government Has Failed Woefully – Kola Ologbondiyan to Buhari

The National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has declared that President Buhari’s Administration has failed woefully. He cited the recent mass defections from the All Progressives Progress (APC) as an indication of the failure of the APC led government.

 Mr. Ologbondiyan made this assertion during an interview with Channels Television on Wednesday after massive defections from the APC to the PDP.

“We are very happy with their defection because it signposts the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has failed woefully, and Nigerians have become disenchanted with the government,” He said.

He further asserted that the people who are the representatives of Nigerians in government are demonstrating the people’s anger and frustrations with the APC led government. He asserted that the frustration of Nigerians is what led to the defections.

He also asserted that his party has become the choice of the people having gone through reforms and is upbeat regarding the coming elections.

He also faulted the report that the defection of the APC lawmakers was a fallout of the disagreement with the APC governors in their various states while confirming the fact that some governors would also defect to the PDP in the coming days; Governor Ortom of Benue State defected already.

The PDP National publicity secretary stated that his party has an established a framework for public office holders coming into the party, especially for governors and lawmakers.

Asides from the established framework for dealing with defections of high ranking political players, the PDP scribe revealed that discussions were held with existing party members to explain the situation in which they have found themselves, including the cases of defections and forming a coalition with other political parties.

He however insisted that the mass defections meant Buhari has been rejected by the country,

“What happened on the floor of the Senate, as well as the floor of the House of Representatives, is a clear indication of the rejection of APC and the President Muhammadu Buhari by Nigerians.” the PDP scribe said.

Dino Melaye (Kogi), Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano), Suleiman Hunkuyi (Kaduna), Abdulazeez Nyako (Adamawa), Barnabas Gemade (Benue), Ibrahim Dambaba (Sokoto), and eight other senators had announced their exit from the APC on Tuesday.

Danburam Nuhu, Mark Gbilah, Razak Atunwa, Ahmed Bichi, Abdulsamad Dasuk, Zakari Mohammed, Sani Rano, and 30 other members of the House of Representatives had also dumped the ruling party.
