Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode says Thursday’s attack on EndSARS protesters in Alausa, Ikeja area of Lagos by thugs amounts to adding fuel to fire.

Fani-Kayode stated this in a tweet while reacting to the attack which left many of the protesters injured.

Videos circulating on social media show the moment the thugs alighted from a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle operated by a private firm in partnership with the Lagos State Government.

This raised fears that the thugs were sponsored by the state government or one of its officials or cronies.

However, Fani-Kayode warned that the invasion of the protest by thugs could lead to bloodshed and provoke more anger.

He added that the authorities should know better than to threaten the protesters.

The ex-minister wrote, “Unleashing armed thugs on #EndSARS protestors in Lagos is like adding fuel to fire. It will cause death & invoke anger. The protesters have no fear. They can’t be threatened or intimidated.#EndSarsNow #EndPoliceBrutality #EndPoliceBrutalityInNigeriaNow #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria”
