Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane will not be available for his side’s La Liga Santander clash with Alaves as he has contracted COVID-19.
The news came two days after he was knocked out of the Copa del Rey by third-tier Alcoyano.
He was to hold a Friday press conference ahead of the Alaves clash before the club made the announcement of his positive status.
“Real Madrid CF announces that our coach Zinedine Zidane has tested positive for Covid-19,” the statement read.
The 48-year-old has been facing questions over his future at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The manager has since gone into self-isolation.
