Zidane Dashes Arsenal’s, others, hope of Signing James Rodriguez

Bad news to Arsenal and other clubs that were hoping that perhaps Colombian superstar James Rodriguez would be available to buy in this window as his coach, Zinedine Zidane has said he would not be going anywhere.

There had been heavy speculation that James could be leaving Madrid after being left out of the starting lineup for all three games so far this season, especially the UEFA super cup where Benzema, Bale and Ronaldo all did not start with the last 2 being unavailable, James had still been unable to grab a start.

But he played a part yesterday as Madrid were able to overcome Celta Vigo 2-1 with goals from Toni Kroos and Alvaro Morata and Zidane singled him out for praise stating that he’ll stay amidst speculation that he could go to Arsenal or Juventus or AC Milan.

But Zidane said, “I have seen good things from James and, as you say, yes he will be staying,

“It is not easy when you enter a game and you have to make a difference. He and Lucas [Vazquez] improved the team. He took his chance and the substitutions added something extra for us.

“We can do better, but I wanted us to believe until the end as that is what matters and we accomplished it to get the three points.

“It is true that in some of the matches we have not played as we wanted but I am very pleased with how we have started the season – two wins in the league and one in the [UEFA] Super Cup.

“There are no easy games, Celta were good going forward and both teams struggled with the heat, so I was pleased with the players’ attitude.”
