Nieria has spent N2.74 trillion on power generation in the 16 years of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rule in the country, it was revealed today.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Mr. GoodKnows Igali revealed this while facing the Senate Ad- hoc Committee on Power.

The Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki had two weeks ago inaugurated the committee whose mandate was to investigate the Obasanjo, Yar’adua and Jonathan administrations’ expenditure on power.

Igali, who said that the country had not employed any engineer since 2004, attributed the nation’s woes in creating uninterrupted power supply to lack of proper investments and sabotage.

The Abubakar Kyari-led committee had revealed that they would conduct the probe in form of investigative hearing and interactive session with key stakeholders of the sector since 1999.
