The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested the Chairman of Africa Independent Television, Raymond Dokpesi over involvement in the $2.1 Arms Purchase scandal.

Dokpesi was picked up in Abuja at about noon on Tuesday and was accompanied to the office of the EFCC by his son Raymond Dokpesi Jnr.

Head of Media in the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren reportedly disclosed that Chief Dokpesi was arrested in connection with money disbursed from the office of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.

Mr Mike Ozekhome (SAN), lawyer to Dokpesi also held that being invited to the office of the EFCC is not the same as being arrested and Dokpesi is a well-respected obedient nationalist, that was why he obliged the EFCC invitation.

EFCC is claiming that on the instructions of  Mr. Sambo Dasuki, Central Bank of Nigeria paid N2.1billion to the AIT chairman.
