Manchester United attacker Shinji Kagawa has revealed his frustration at new boss David Moyes’ decision not to use him.
Kagawa, who was signed last summer by Sir Alex Ferguson, has played just seven minutes this season , coming off the bench in the Community Shield win over Wigan in August.
After Japan’s 3-1 win over Ghana on Tuesday where he scored a goal, the player expressed his disappointment at his current status at Old Trafford.
‘Please ask David Moyes why I’m not in the (Manchester United) side,’ Kagawa told AFP.
‘It is frustrating not playing but to score a goal like that gives me confidence. Hopefully I can take that back to my club with me and things will improve.
‘It’s hard not playing regularly. Some days the frustration is worse than others; it comes in waves.
‘So it’s nice to come back to Japan and get to play, and to score felt good.
‘I just have to keep working hard and keep pushing for my chance. When I get back it will be a challenge to get into the team.
‘When I get back to my club I have to wait for my chance in the Champions League and the Premier League. I’m sure my chance will come.’
Kagawa was not in the squad that lost to Liverpool at Anfield two weeks ago.
The Japanese International has appeared for United 26 times last season, his highpoint so far is the hat-trick he scored in United’s 4-0 victory over Norwich in March.
Supporters of his former club Dortmund recently started a ‘#FreeShinji’ hashtag on twitter earlier in the summer – demanding the Premier League side to release the player.
