Court Sentences Pastor To 18 months In Prison For Stealing Turkeys & Goat

A pastor of a Cherubim and Seraphim Church located on the Baruwa Estate, Osogbo, Solomon Opaalade, has been convicted by

Magistrate Adijat Oloyade of the Osun State Chief Magistrates’ Court for stealing a goat and  9 turkeys.

The Pastor was arraigned on July 15, 2019 on five counts bordering on stealing, was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment for three of

the counts. Opaalade was accused of stealing nine turkeys and a goat sometimes in March, 2017.

Two turkeys and charms were recovered from Opaalade and presented in court during his trial.

Magistrate Oloyade subsequently sentenced the cleric to 18 months’ imprisonment on each of the three counts, or an option of paying

N10,000 fine for each of the counts.
