RETALIATION: US Embassy In Iraq Under Possible Rocket Attacks

Sequel to the dramatic turn of events regarding the death of Qasem Soleimani, top Iran and Iraq commander,  by US drone strike on Friday, it has been reported that two rockets may have hit near the US Embassy in Bagdad, Iraq’s capital.

According to reports by AFP, eyewitnesses disclosed that the two rocket attacks took place just hours after the ambassador was summoned over the strike that killed the commander.

The US drone attack on Qasem Soleimani, one of the most powerful figures in the Islamic Republic, took place early Friday in an airstrike near Baghdad international airport.

The attack and death of Soleimani have fueled a number of retaliatory comments and actions from around the world, particularly Iran and Iraq.

On Sunday, Iran announced that it will be cutting off from the terms of the 2015 nuclear deal which entailed limitations on centrifuges, uranium enrichment amongst others.

Iraqi parliament also approved a resolution which called on its government to expel about 5,000 US troops from the country.
