Women Arise for Change Initiative says it will increase its advocacies aimed at addressing issues of women and human rights, economic empowerment and leadership capacity building in 2021.
The Group’s President, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Thursday.
Okei-Odumakin said that the initiative is also determined to do more in working with government and stakeholders to ensure the implementation of various existing policies on issues of gender and domestic violence at all times.

The president said that so far, the group had received over 4,000 cases that were already documented and that even few of such had to do with men suffering abuses from their wives.
Okei-Odumakin added that the group had succeeded in working with the appropriate authorities to ensure the prosecution of so many of the cases.
“We have in the recent past secured judgement in not less than 10 of these numerous cases, while the lack of speedy prosecution has kept a lot under trial till date.
“The fact remains that we will continue to pursue all avenues of getting justice to any victim of gender based violence, no matter how long it takes,” she said. (NAN)
