Uduak Akpan, the suspect in the death of job seeker, Iniobong Akpan, has explained the circumstances that led to her death.

He made the disclosure on Friday while being paraded by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command in Uyo.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Andrew Amiengheme, had told newsmen that Akpan was paraded to dispel rumour that he had committed suicide in detention.

Speaking with reporters, Akpan revealed that he invited Umoren for a fake job interview but demanded sex from her when she arrived.

He said that she agreed to his demand but told him to use a condom.

However, he said,  she hit him with a stabiliser when she realised that he removed the condom and he retaliated, leading to her death.

“I asked her whether she can work on a farm as a secretary, she said she can and that she’s ready to do the job. So, when she came, I revealed to her that this farm doesn’t exist and that it was just a hoax.

“I told her that before she leaves that I’ll like to have sex with her, and she agreed. But she gave a condition that I should use a condom, which I did. When I removed the condom, she became furious, so she took the nearby stabiliser to hit me on my head. Then she bit my left ring finger.

“In a bid to stop her, I used the stabiliser to hit her and she fell and started bleeding, thereafter she died.”

Asked if Umoren was the first victim he killed, Akpan responded in the affirmative, noting that he had slept with six other women using the fake job antic.

He said that his father and sister were not involved in the incident.
