The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has incurred the wrath of Lagosians after his convoy caused them to be stuck in traffic for hours.

The Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) reported that the incident occurred around Oshodi-Anthony Expressway, after Baba landed in the state for an undisclosed purpose.

The Lagos State Police Command was said to have blocked the Oshodi-Lagos Airport Road and Maryland-Ojota axis of the highway in preparation for the arrival of the police boss.

However, many Lagosians that were stuck in traffic as a result of the blockade did not take it lightly.

As they spotted the IGP’s convoy speed by, they began to call him names, including “thief”, and rained curses on him, all in Yoruba.
