Arsene Wenger is set to secure a defensive midfielder for Arsenal as the Frenchman will be handed £30m to invest in his squad in January’s transfer window.
Reports claimed the English side are in a bid with Real Madrid to secure World Cup winner Sami Khedira transfer to Emirates come January.
Khedira reportedly turned down offer to sign a new contract at Real Madrid as his contract with the Spanish side is due to end early next year.
Gunners are now closing in on the German with an ” offer that meets Real Madrid’s €15m (£11m) price-tag,” reports caught offside.
Khedira’s knee injury had him struggle with the likes of Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Asier Illarramendi to make Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield starting line-up.
Although having undergone an arthroscopic surgery on his knee he will be required to go through intense medicals at Emirates.
