4 ships laden with petrol waiting to discharge in Lagos ports

Four out of eight ships waiting to berth in Lagos ports would discharge Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as petrol, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) said on Thursday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the document noted that the remaining four ships would berth with kerosene, bulk fertiliser, base oil and bulk gas.

Thirty nine ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods are expected to arrive Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports in Lagos from July 28 to Aug. 13.

NPA explained that the expected ships contained buck wheat, bulk sugar, containers, base oil, bulk salt, steel products, aviation fuel, soya bean, bulk fertiliser, diesel, empty containers and petrol.

NAN reports that 19 ships are at the ports discharging general cargoes, buck wheat, fertiliser, bulk charcoal, empty containers, bulk gas, bulk gypsum, containers and petrol. (NAN)
