Bornu Police Intercepts Bomb at Kano Motor Park

Bornu State Police Command said it uncovered a bomb planted at Kano Motor Park by Suspected Boko Haram Terrorists.

Gideon Jibrin, the Spokesman of the state police command in a statement said that the bomb was uncovered on Friday during the Juma’at prayers at 1.35p.m.

He said “On December 5 at about 1330hrs, the attention of the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) operatives of the command and civilian JTF men on duty at the Kano Motor Park, Maiduguri, was drawn to a bunch of suspected Improvised Explosive Devices concealed in a receptacle and planted near the exit gate of the Juma’at mosque at the motor park.”

He said the bomb was neutralised by the bomb disposal unit drafted to the scene, the IEDs was targeted at unsuspecting worshippers who were already in prayers.

Jibrin urged the general public to be vigilant at all times and alert the police if they find suspected persons in their midst.
