One of Africa’s richest men Aliko Dangote has declared boldly that he will buy Arsenal football club within the next four years.

The billionaire said this in an interview with Bloomberg stating that there are just a few obstacles in his way but once those were dealt with he will buy the club.

He said while speaking on Bloomberg television yesterday in New York “it’s not a problem of money”.

“Maybe three to four years. The issue is that we have more challenging headwinds. I need to get those out the way first and start having tailwinds. Then I’ll focus on this.” he said.

Dangote is an avid Arsenal fan and has said that he wants not only to buy it, but to buy it and turn it around.

“It’s not about buying Arsenal and just continuing with business as usual, It’s about buying Arsenal and turning it around. I’ve run a very successful business and I think I can also run a very successful team. Right now, with what we’re facing, over $20 billion of projects, I cannot do both.”

To do that though, Dangote will have to face off with current owner Stan Kroenke who is worth $7 billion and is the owner of the National Basketball Association’s Denver Nuggets.

He currently holds 67 percent of Arsenal Holdings, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
