Mr Aminu Lamido, the eldest son of Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido who was recently arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for money laundering and is being prosecuted, was yesterday arrested by the police in Kano for allegedly crushing a man to death in an accident.

Eye witness account say that in the incident which occurred around 8.55pm along BUK Road by Rumfa College, Kano, Aminu had an accident while driving his SUV sports car in which a middle-aged man died on the spot.

He has been arrested alongside his car at the Kwali Police Station in Kano, as a source described his arrest as “timely intervention by the police on patrol, else Aminu would have been lynched by a mob.”

The Kano Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Magaji Musa Majia  confirmed the incident, stating that the driver of the accident vehicle had been identified as Aminu Sule.

Majia stated that the police had also identified the relation of the victim while the body was taken to a government hospital for doctor’s confirmation.
