Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Malaye has challenged popular online news platform, Sahara Reporters to register with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria, threatening that the publisher, Omoyele Sowore will spend many years in jail.

Melaye said this while reacting to Sahara Reporters recent expose on him claiming that he has a foreign bank account with the Bank of America in the United States.

He tweeted “I dare Sahara to register with corporate Affairs commission. Sowore’s jail term will be longer than that of a monkey in the zoo.”

Nigerian public officials are prohibited from running foreign bank accounts. The allegations if investigated and affirmed by the Code of Conduct Tribunal may cost him his seat.

According to SaharaReporters, Melaye opened two accounts, a current account and a savings account in the name of “Daniel Din Melaye,” while posing as a student.
