Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho is not a happy man right now and has criticised the English FA for its insensitivity to the club and players as regards match days.

According to him, the Red Devils have not played games on a Monday following their Europa League ties.

The Old Trafford club have generally struggled after their matches in Europe this season and those difficulties have left the club sixth in the Premier League. Aside from the game against Liverpool, United have not played a single match on Monday in the league.

United take on Zorya Luhansk in the Europa League before a game against Tottenham Hotspur and Mourinho has questioned the fact his team have to play on Thursday and Sunday regularly.

‘We go in the same direction. We assumed from the beginning that it was an important competition for us – difficult because we play Thursdays and then Sundays.

‘We are never given a Monday match to have one more day to rest and prepare.

‘It’s a difficult competition to play with the rest of the competitions. We want to try to win it. While we are in the competition we try to win it.

‘We want to go to the knockout and go as far as possible step by step. The first step is a difficult one to qualify from a very difficult group. The most important competition is always the next match.

‘Today I’m saying the most important competition is the Europa League, and after the match tomorrow it will be the Premier League.’

Mourinho and United need a victory or a draw in Odessa on Thursday to guarantee progress to the knockout stages of the Europa League.
