Isabella Idibia, the teenage daughter of Nigerian music icon 2Baba and actress Annie Idibia, is speaking out against the portrayal of her parents in the Netflix reality show “Young, Famous and African.”

The show, which premiered in 2022, features couples navigating love, life, and fame within Africa’s elite circles. However, Isabella claims the show presented a one-sided narrative of her parents’ relationship.

In a recent social media video, Isabella criticized the show’s depiction of her mother, Annie, as a “nagging wife” enduring an abusive marriage. She also took aim at a scene where 2Baba reportedly made comments about infidelity in the presence of his wife and other cast members.

“I think the way my parents were portrayed in ‘Young, Famous and African’ is just so wrong,” Isabella stated.

She expressed frustration at viewers who dismissed her defense due to her age. “How would you know?” she argued. “You are not in my family. Your knowledge is based on stuff that you see on social media.”

Isabella emphasized her unique perspective as a child raised within the family. “I know it because I’ve been in the household with my parents,” she said. “They would never know the actual true story” portrayed in the show.

While acknowledging the difficulty of changing public perception, Isabella remains adamant. “The way my parents were portrayed…wasn’t the best image and wasn’t completely accurate.”
