A Nigerian teenager suspected to be a member of the deadly Terrorist group, Boko Haram has confessed to the number of people he has killed.

The 17-year-old teenager who was arrested by men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC, on Tuesday revealed that he has killed a total of 18 people since joining the terrorist group about three years ago.

The suspect identified as Ali Mustafa alleged that he was forced into joining the terrorist group after men of the Islamist-Jihadist sect raided his village in Monguno.

The teenager who revealed that he learnt skills including how to handle rifles and execute victims at the terrorist camp said: “I was forced to join Boko Haram about three years ago.”

He added: “Boko Haram insurgents came to our village and forcefully took many of us away. We were kept in the bush camp near Kala Balge and from there we carried out various operations, during which I personally killed 18 persons.

He added: “I can handle all kinds of guns including AK-47 and AA (anti aircraft) rifle.”

The arrested boy revealed that his last mission before his capture was to go to Maiduguri to spy for his group but on his way to the mission decided to change course as he was already tired of killing people.

“I was tired of killing people against my wish, so I told my two other colleagues with whom we were asked to go on a spying mission that we should abandon the mission and run.

“So I came to Maiduguri to search for my parents in the camps. But some IDPs who knew me as member of Boko Haram decided to report me to the security people.”

The teenage boy further revealed that there are hundreds of other boys in Boko Haram’s captivity.

Speaking on the arrest, the Commandant of NSCDC, Ibrahim Abdullahi while parading the young boy along with nine other criminals said: “But after a thorough interrogation he gave up his denial and confessed to be a Boko Haram member and that he had carried out many execution of innocent persons.”
