A Television station in Tanzania has reportedly laid off nine of its presenters including on of its top presenters, Gabriel Zacharia.

The suspension of the journalists comes on the heels of a ‘fake news’ published regarding the 45th United states president, Donald Trump.

The journalists who were reported to have disseminated a news which held that the US President, Donald Trump praised Tanzanian president, John Magufuli were reported to have breached the editorial rules of the news medium.

The fake article published last week reported that the US President, Donald Trump praised the Tanzanian president, Magufuli for his fight against corruption.

It further held that Trump presented the Tanzanian president as ‘an African hero’ and an example to other African leaders who are accused of ‘doing nothing’.

Addressing the ‘fake report’, the media house in a statement released by its head of the channel, Ayub Rioba Chacha, said TBC1 regrets ‘a lack of professionalism which led to the dissemination of false information.’
