$1.56m narcotic drugs seized in Myanmar

Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Wednesday says Myanmar authorities seized narcotic drugs including heroin and stimulant tablets worth over 2.34 billion kyats (about 1.56 million U.S. dollars) in Shan state.
The seizure was made by the military personnel during their patrol operations in Mabane township on Tuesday.
Soap boxes filled with 2.16kg of heroin worth over 41 million kyats (about 27,360 U.S. dollars) were confiscated from two motorbikes.
Also seized was 1.15 million stimulant tablets worth over 2.3 billion kyats (about 1.53 million U.S. dollars).
Further investigation to capture the suspect in connection with the case is underway. (Xinhua/NAN)
