10 students kidnapped in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Government has said that 10 secondary school students have been kidnapped in Kachia local government area of the state.

Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan confirmed this in a security update released on Tuesday.

He said that preliminary reports received from security agencies indicated that the victims were students of Government Secondary School, Awon (a day secondary school).

Aruwan added that the kidnapping took place on Monday.

“The exact location of the incident is yet to be ascertained but detailed reports being awaited will clarify whether the incident occurred within the school premises or elsewhere.

“The Government will issue a public statement accordingly, when these reports are received,” the commissioner added.
