The Kogi State Government has denied the Labour Party (LP) the use of the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja for the party’s presidential campaign rally on Tuesday.

Kogi State Chairman of the party, Suleiman AbdulAhmed, said this while addressing journalists on Monday.

He said that Obi was due to visit the state on Tuesday, December 13, for the campaign rally.

AbdulAhmed described the state government’s decision to deny LP access to the stadium was wicked and anti-democratic.

He said that the state chapter of the party had written to the state government on several occasions to be permitted to use the stadium.

The state LP boss said it was curious that the denial was only communicated to the party in the last minute.

He said that despite the frustration from the state government, the party remains resolute to ensure that the campaign holds as planned.
