23-Year-Old Drug Addict Stabs His Parents To Death In Lagos

A 23-year-old drug addict has reportedly killed his parents in their home which is located in Lagos.

According to reports, the 23-year-old, who has been identified as Michael Okhide fled the scene of the crime after stabbing his parents, Barr. Clement  and Toyin Okhide in their apartment on Azeez Gbadamosi street, Ejigbo, Lagos.

He also stabbed his sister, Mary in the stomach and hand.

His sister, who was reportedly found laying in a pool of her blood was immediately rushed to the hospital where doctors are still trying to save her life.

The reason behind Michael’s action is still a mystery as the police is still on his trail.

However, Residents who reside within the area believe that his sudden outburst of rage is solely connected to his bad drug habits, they believe that it was his uncontrollable urge to get more illicit drugs at all costs that resulted in his actions.

One of the residents who described the deceased 60-year-old lawyer as a no-nonsense man, said: “he had been warning his son against taking illicit drugs but he would not listen. There had been an altercation between them many times.

Michael was the first child, the couple had three children. He had gone to three private universities but could not complete his education because of illicit drugs.

At a point, he said that his family hated him, even when his parents did all they could to make him useful”

A member of the deceased’s family said: “It is unfortunate that my brother and his wife lost their lives in the process of trying to ensure he turned a new leaf

Michael has been a thorn in the entire family’s flesh. If you cautioned him, he would snap at you and warn you to mind your business.”
