A 57yr old man has been arrested alongside ten others for the consistent rape of a 12yr old girl over a long period of time in Jigawa state.
According to the Jigawa state police command, the suspected were arrested on Saturday, complaints were received that a 57yr old man was trying to lure a 12yr old girl at the Limawa market in Ma’al village Dutse to a secluded corner in order to have carnal knowledge of her.

Upon his arrest by the police, the 57yr old confessed that 10 other men have been consistently having sex with the girl over time.
The police thereafter went after the 10 others who were all apprehended and waiting to be charged to court for rape.
“A case of rape is being investigated at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Dutse, sequel to a report received by the Police that a 57-year-old man of Ma’ai village, Dutse LGA was seen at Limawa market trying to lure a 12-year-old girl of the same address, to seclusion to have sexual intercourse with her,” a police statement said.
The statement added that the men will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
