Mr Garba Abari, the Director General, National Orientation Agency (NOA) has reiterated the importance of integrity in the discharge of both government and private sector duties.

The Special Assistant to the NOA boss, Mr David Akoji, stated this in a statement on Thursday that Abari made the remark when a delegation from the Association of Good Governance (AGG) paid him a visit in Abuja.

Akoji quoted Abari as telling the delegation that “the promotion of integrity is in fulfilment of NOA’s mandate toward achieving good governance among Nigerians.

“Good governance, along with its features of transparency, accountability and gender inclusiveness are vital for successful development.”

Abari urged leaders in both the public and private sectors to see public office as public trust and ensure the promotion of acts of good governance, hard work and commitment in the conduct of their business activities.

The leader of the group, MacDonlad Akhirome, applauded the efforts of the Agency toward sensitising Nigerians on the Change Agenda and on the various government policies and programmes of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

He likened good governance to a language that must be translated and communicated across the nooks and crannies of the country.

Akhirome stressed the importance of showcasing private individuals who embraced good governance in their corporate activities.

He advocated for the entrenchment of good governance culture in both public and private organisations. (NAN)
