The senator representing Kaduna Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, Sen. Shehu Sani, has offered American rapper, Kanye West a choice to experience slavery first-hand.
Sani’s offer came in the aftermath of controversial comments by West that slavery was a choice.
In a viral interview with TMZ live, West said: “When you hear about slavery for 400 years … For 400 years? That sounds like a choice.”
The comment has since attracted severe criticism from the black community across the world.
Sani also joined the fray, accusing West of denigrating victims.
Attributing West’s comment to lack of proper education on the subject of the transatlantic slave trade, Sani invited him to visit some slave routes in Africa.
He tweeted, “If @kanyewest thinks Slavery was a choice,we will offer him a free ticket & tour guide to visit slave routes and camps in Badagry Lagos, Ouida Benin Republic,Ghana & Goree Island in Senegal to ‘experience the choices in chains’. Kanye defecated on the graves of victims@nytimes @AP“
