Oops: Unai Emery Mistakenly Confirms Arsenal Announcement On His Website

2 Min Read

It seems done and dusted and it is widely expected that former PSG boss, Unai Emery will become the man in the dugout for Arsenal next season.

The 46-year-old mistakenly announced the appointment on his personal website even though Arsenal themselves have not confirmed the deal.

Unai Emery on his site, unai-emery.com, had a single page with a message that read: “Proud to be part of the Arsenal family,” with the manager’s signature below and an Arsenal logo above which seems to confirm the widely-expected appointment.

Emery managed Sevilla where he won the Europa League back to back– to back including a win against Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the 2015/2016 edition.

Emery was also manager at Valencia where he guided the team to 3rd place finishes behind Madrid and Barcelona.

In his two years at Paris Saint Germain, Emery won the Ligue 1 title, two Coupes de France, two Coupes de la Ligue and two French Supercups during his two seasons in charge there.

The image was summarily taken down, but Arsenal fans can expect an announcement this week.

It had seemed that former player and Manchester City assistant, Mikel Arteta would get the job, but it emerged on Monday that Emery was suddenly favourite for the job.
