Salah Helps Liverpool Reach UCL Last 16

Salah had another remarkable outing for Liverpool on Tuesday night. One moment of brilliance from the Egyptian was enough to defeat Napoli. With his lone goal, Liverpool were able to progress to the knockout stages of the champions league.

Salah’s continuous top-class performance is delightful. At some point, Liverpool fans will not be able to find the right words to qualify his outstanding performances since he joined the club. If there is anyone to praise for the match, Salah would most likely be the first to be considered. In a very crucial match, he proved the difference.

His goal in the first half was exactly what his team sought for, it was what they actually needed. As Salah received the ball from James Milner in the 34th minute, no one would have anticipated any dangerous move from him. But he showed he is a great player with a sleek move into Napoli’s penalty area. After shrugging off Mario Rui with some form of physical strength, he found a way to slot the ball through Ospina, albeit from a very tight angle.  Anfield was reverberating with noise, even though he barely celebrated.

The 1-0 full-time scoreline was enough to seal their place in this season’s knockout stages of the Uefa Champions League. Although, the Reds were only able to the secure the second position, behind Paris Saint Germain.

Napoli on the other end will now have to resume European football duties in the Europa league next year. It’s quite a tough one to chew for the Italians. They stood a good chance to qualify before the match.

Now, Liverpool will hope they can pull off what they did last season, where they went all way through to the final.

With Salah in their ranks, it wouldn’t be impossible to have such aspirations.
