An Ibadan-based businesswoman, Bose Bella, has prayed a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan to dissolve her 14-year-old marriage to her husband, Adetola, because he is threatening to make her mad.

In her petition before Chief Ademola Odunade, the court’s President, Bose, a resident of Ayegun area in Ibadan, stated that her husband had perfected all plans to make her run mad.

“I thought that I was making good decision by agreeing to marry Adetola 14 years ago, but I was wrong.

“Firstly, all the effort I had made towards getting pregnant with Adetola, let alone bearing a child, proved abortive.

“Soon after, he started giving me a certain black soap to wash my head.

“Not too long after, he started threatening to make me go mad at all costs and also beat me at any slightest opportunity he had.

“In fact, Adetola has a particular padlock that is made of charm with which he has vowed to use in destroying my life.

“However, I have kept the padlock out of his reach, when I saw it.

“Each time Adetola gave me money for business, he usually forces me to sign an agreement.

“He is such a wicked man, I am fed up with him,” she said.

In his objection to the suit, the respondent prayed the court not to nullify his marriage while denying all the allegations leveled against him.

Adetola who earns his living as a commercial motorcyclist argued that his wife did not appreciate his effort.

“Although the padlock presented by Bose is mine, but it is not meant to harm her.

“To show that I love Bose, I stood as a guarantor for her when she wanted to borrow money somewhere,” he stated.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Bose tendered before the court the padlock which she alleged Adetola used to harm her spiritually. (NAN)
