The General Overseer, Inri Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Babatunde Ayodele, has warned that the COVID-19 pandemic would claim the lives of more prominent Nigerians before disappearing.

Recall that Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari, died in Lagos on Friday of COVID-19 complications and was buried at the Gudu Cemetery, Abuja on Saturday.

Primate Ayodele also warned that COVID-19 may not disappear as expected until 2021.

In a chat with Saturday Sun, the prophet further urged the Federal Government to relax the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun, and FCT, which has been emulated by many state governors, to prevent a revolt from the poor masses.

He said that adherence to three conditions will help FG better tackle the spread of the virus.

Primate Ayodele said, “This COVID-19 will not go either today or tomorrow. If care is not taken, it may extend till next year. More prominent people will still die of the virus, but God may still avert this imminent calamity if our government urgently takes certain steps: one is to relax the ongoing lockdown to 6pm to 7am.

“Two is to allow our churches to hold services, praise and pray to God. But under the strict adherence to measures out in place by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

“Three, our rich men should stop donating money directly into the covers of the government. They should give directly to the people, although such exercise should be supervised by government agencies.”
