Naz, Jay Z, Travis Scott To Release New Music Tonight

Music lovers and hiphop fans are in for a great surprise tonight as their favorites in the game are soon to release new music.

 

Anticipating new music always comes with an electrifying atmosphere as it provides a platform for fans to reconnect with stars and to also update their playlist.

 

A host of American artistes who have been on the music scene for long and regarded as veterans of the art; ranging from Naz, Jay Z, Pharrell Williams and Travis Scott are dropping new joints and  albums tonight.

Travis Scott – The Plan

Travis Scott announced that his new single “The Plan” will be released this Friday, August 21. The Plan is released as a theme song for the upcoming Christopher Nolan film TENET. 

The cover artwork for “The Plan” features an image of John David Washington, the film’s lead actor. Announcing the single, Scott wrote: “FLAME x CHRIS NOLAN COOK UP THE PLAN FRIDAY”.

“The Plan” was analysed in a recent cover story of popular American magazine GQ focussing on Scott. Chief author Garrick D. Kennedy wrote that the music “sounds like a brain-liquefying trip through time and space. His voice became the final piece of a yearlong puzzle,”

Discussing with GQ about Scott, Nolan said “His insights into the musical and narrative mechanism  Ludwig Göransson and I were building were immediate, insightful, and profound.”

 

Pharrell & Jay Z – Entrepreneur

Pharrell and JAY-Z announced that they’re  releasing a new song, “Entrepreneur,” tomorrow (August 21). The song is part of Pharrell’s TIME cover package, titled “The New American Revolution.”

In an interview with TIME  Pharrell said the song stems from “how tough it is to be an entrepreneur in our country to begin with. Especially as someone of color, there’s a lot of systemic disadvantages and purposeful blockages. How can you get a fire started, or even the hope of an ember to start a fire, when you’re starting at disadvantages with regards to health care, education, and representation?”

 

Naz – King’s Disease (Album)

Naz is releasing his 13th studio album King’s Disease which includes a track ‘Ultra Black’ produced by Hit-Boy.

The track is music that celebrates the Black community, “Ultra Black” hears the rapper speak on perseverance and pride despite the system. “Occassion, we rose to that,” he narrates, even harking it back to his 1994 hit “The World Is Yours” with the line “My son will be my resurrection.”

 

Lecrea – Restoration (Album)

Houston Rapper, Lecrea confirmed on twitter that he would be releasing his 9th solo studio album Restoration on Friday August 21.

The album features artists across all genres including John Legend, Kirk Franklin, YK Osiris, Jozzy, Dani Leigh, Marc E. Bassy, BJ The Chicago Kid and more.

Money Man – Epidemic (Mix Tape)

Money Man continues to expresses his versatility as both a businessman and a rapper. He’s flooded the market with loose singles, freestyles, and even unmixed demos in between projects. This week, he returned with his latest project titled, Epidemic given the current status of health concerns across the globe. His eight-track music project runs includes no features, with Money Man taking the center stage.

Mulatto – Queen Of Da Souf

Mulatto is releasing her album Queen Of Da Souf (pronounced “south”) tonight, featuring the likes of 21 Savage, Gucci Mane, City Girls, 42 Dugg, Saweetie, and Trina.

T.I. might be the King of the South but Mulatto is officially claiming the throne as the one-and-only Queen Of Da Souf.

 

Blackbear – EMN (Album)

American Rapper, Blackbear is releasing his 5th studio album – Everything Means Nothing (EMN) tonight. He had released Hot Girl Bummer, a track on EMN back in 2019. EMN is a follow up to his his 2019 album Anonymous.
