“Let’s go for the glory” – Lionel Messi tells teammates after Argentina qualifies for Copa America final

Argentine captain, Lionel Messi has urged his teammates to go for the glory in the Copa America final against Brazil.

The Albiceleste advanced into the final on Tuesday after defeating Colombia via penalties.

Goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez was the hero of the match as he parried three penalties to send Lionel Scaloni’s side into the final.

The 28-year-old Martinez, who plays for Premier League side Aston Villa, only made his first international cap last month but has proven himself ever since.

Messi made it his ninth involvement out of Argentina’s 11 goals in the competition thus far when he set up the ball neatly for Lautaro Martinez in the 7th minute.

He also scored Argentina’s first penalty of the night.

Messi, who shared photos from the night on his Facebook page, captioned them: “Proud and happy to belong to this group!!! One more goal achieved…

“Thank God for continuing to give me these moments. Let’s go for the glory.

“Draw, speechless, you deserve it BEAST!!!

Argentina will face Brazil on Sunday, July 11.
