A former AC Milan youth player, Yusupha Yaffa, is facing fraud charges in Italy after the club accused him of falsifying his age to play for them.

According to a report by Daily Mirror citing sources in Italy, Yaffa claimed he was 19 but his age on his Facebook profile read 28.

While he claimed to have been born on December 31st, 1996, his alleged real birth date is being put at November 14th, 1987.

The Gambian player who now plies his trade in Germany is being accused of filing the wrong age with AC Milan and immigration officials on arrival in Italy.

He has however denied falsifying his age, blaming his situation on the claim that he lost his passport multiple times.

Apparently, Italian officials are not convinced by the argument, and he will return to face charges against him.

It is believed that a number of the club’s officials including former manager Filippo Inzaghi will be called upon to testify in the case.
