Air Force kills bandit leader, 30 others in Kaduna

The Air Component of Operation Whirl Punch has neutralised a bandit kingpin, Ali Dogo aka Yellow, and 30 of his foot soldiers in Kaduna State.

The bandits were reportedly neutralised in an operation that took place over the weekend.

According to a Punch report, the bandits were killed while holed up in a house belonging to one Alhaji Gwarzo Yadi in Giwa Local Government Area.

They were said to have fled heavy bombardment by troops on their location in Niger State.

However, luck ran out on them while holding a meeting in Alhaji Gwarzo’s house as a NAF aircraft struck the building, leaving everybody inside neutralized, including Yellow.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) equally conducted a series of coordinated bombardments same day on terrorists’ locations around Mando in Kaduna.

A source said that several terrorists were killed in the bombardments which were conducted following “credible intelligence of terrorists leaders and their foot soldiers converging under tree” for a meeting.

NAF Spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet confirmed the bombardments.

He said that the Air Component would sustain offensive operations against criminal elements in collaboration with Land Component and other security agencies to rid the Joint Operations Area and the entire Northwest of terrorism and other acts of criminality.
