Aisha Buhari Donates Relief Materials to Kaduna Attack Victims

The First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Buhari has donated relief materials to victims of bandits attacks in Igabi Local Government area of Kaduna State.

The donation was presented through the wife of Kaduna state governor, Ummi El-Rufai,  and was presented to the victims on Monday at Kerawa village by the Executive  Secretary of SEMA, Hajiya Maimuna Abubakar.

The items presented included rice, cooking oil and blankets.

Mrs Buhari said the gesture was to identify with them in their trying moment, adding that it would not replace the lives and properties lost to the attack.

She assured them that the government would not relent in its efforts to prevent a recurrence of such attacks.

Mrs Buhari noted that it is the responsibility of the government to protect lives and property of citizens and would continue to take measures to ensure peace and stability nationwide.

One of the villagers, Haruna Ibrahim appealed for more security, saying they have no intention of relocating from their villages.

While thanking the president’s wife for the donation Ibrahim stressed that what the communities wanted was a reinforcement of security in the area.

Also, Malam Murtala Shuaibu, the Imam of Kerawa said members  of the communities were living in very difficult situation having lost a lot including their animals to the attack.

“We can’t go to farms or carry out our daily activities without adequate security, as such it is imperative for government to protect us,” the Imam said.
