APC members offered N56m bribe to bandits to refuse Jangebe schoolgirls release – Shinkafi

The 2019 gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Zamfara State, Dr. Sani Abdullah Shinkafi, says members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) offered N56 million bribe to the abductors of the Jangebe schoolgirls to frustrate efforts to secure their release.

Recall that armed bandits stormed the Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe on February 26 and abducted 279 schoolgirls.

They were however released on March 2, with Governor Bello Matawalle stating that no ransom was paid.

The governor also hailed the contributions of repentant bandits in the state for the schoolgirls’ release.

Daily Post quoted Shinkafi as saying during a press briefing that APC members plotted to scuttle Governor Matawalle’s peace efforts in the state by offering bribes to the bandits to continue to keep the girls.

Shinkafi dared politicians from both the ruling and opposition parties to subject their telephone numbers to security checks.

This, he said, would lead to “shocking” revelations.

According to him, the security agencies must begin the security checks from February 25 up to when the girls were released.

He also advised the security agencies to step up efforts to curtail insecurity in the state and be on the look-out for saboteurs among the political class.

Shinkafi also cautioned the youths not to allow themselves to be used as willing tools to bring down the nation but rather commit to building it up.
