The Nigeria Army has dismissed reports making the rounds that soldiers were among the casualties of the multiple bomb attacks in Abuja, stating that no soldier was killed or injured in the attacks.

Making this clarification on behalf of the Army, the spokesperson of the Nigeria Army Guards Brigade, Captain Bashir Jajira, in a statement said that while the Army commiserates with those who lost loved ones, it did not lose any soldier in the terrible incidents.

According to Capt. Jajira, “At about 09:30 p.m. last night, two bomb blasts were recorded at Kuje, one near the Kuje Area Council Police Station and the other near the Kuje main Market.

“In Nyanya three lives were lost comprising two suicide bombers and one civilian died and three civilians were injured in the bomb explosion.

“In both incidents no casualty was recorded from the military.”

Furthermore, he said that the victims had been moved to the National Hospital and the Kuje General Hospital.

This latest spate of bombings has been blamed on the dreaded terrorist sect, Boko Haram, but the group is yet to claim responsibility.

The nation has been at loggerheads with the sect since the group began its campaign of terror in 2009, a campaign that has got tens of thousands killed and rendered millions homeless.
