As Roma: Dzeko out for a month; Totti, Keita also injured

Italian Seria A side, AS Roma have confirmed an injury to striker, Edin Dzeko after the club’s 5-1 mauling of newcomers Carpi on Saturday.

Dzeko, who is on loan from English side Manchester City, is expected to be out for between 3 and 4 weeks due to a twisted knee, club doctors have confirmed.

He is expected to miss the club’s second Group E match of the UEFA Champions League against Bate Borisov on Tuesday, and a Serie A match against Palermo.

Furthermore, the 29-year-old Bosnian is expected to miss his country’s Euro 2016 qualifiers against Wales and Cyprus, but could stage a return to action in his club’s October 17 Serie A match against Empoli.

The club also announced that they will be without the services of veteran striker Francesco Totti, who alongside former Barcelona man Seydou Keita, is expected to be sidelined for at least 10 days after sustaining minor thigh injury scares in the same game.
