Asake Dons Flamboyant Garb in Colorful New Video for Hit Song “Only Me”

Grammy-nominated Afrobeats superstar Asake has released the captivating visuals for his hit song “Only Me,” directed by the renowned music video producer, TG Omori.

The captivating video showcases Asake, dressed in a flamboyant white and gold cloak, leading a procession reminiscent of iconic Nollywood occult scenes. The visuals also feature scenes of Asake taking possession of a vault, symbolizing his wealth and dominance within the music industry.

This video release follows the success of Zlatan’s “Bust Down,” further solidifying Asake’s position as a hit-making machine. The “Mr Money” crooner, whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, is set to perform at the 19,000-seat Scotia Bank Arena in Toronto, Canada, in April 2024.

Asake rose to prominence in 2020 with his breakout song “Lady” and later joined the YBNL record label in February 2022. He sings primarily in Yoruba, believing that music transcends language barriers. Recognized for his musical talent and achievements, Asake has received multiple awards and nominations, including his 2023 Grammy nomination for the Best African Music Performance category for his song “Amapiano” alongside rapper Olamide. He also won the music prize at the prestigious 2023 Future Awards.
