AVICII KILLED HIMSELF WITH A BROKEN WINE BOTTLE- REPORT

The exact cause of Avicii’s death has been revealed, according to a report, he committed suicide by cutting himself with a broken wine bottle.

The 28-year-old was found dead April 20 in Muscat, within the Middle Eastern country of Oman. Having battled alcohol problems for years, Avicii also dealt with numerous health problems which including Acute Pancreatitis, which he was diagnosed with at the age of 21.

According to reports the DJ was found with wounds to his neck and wrists.

Avicii’s body was found in his hotel bathroom at the luxury resort of Muscat Hills, where fans had spotted him and taken pictures with him shortly before his death.

In a statement, the hotel said it was unable to provide details of their guests’ visits, but could confirm he was there.

“Throughout his visit he was extremely kind to all our staff and acted like any of our regular guests,” said the hotel management.

“Avicii definitely did seem to be in good spirits while enjoying his time and he was also very friendly with everyone.

“As much as we enjoyed his company here at Muscat Hills Resort, we are extremely sad to hear and read all the recent news and therefore we would like to express our sincere condolences to his family, friends and all his fans.”

Avicii had previously spoken of his fear of dying if he continued to fly around the world to perform night after night in the biggest clubs.

It is thought that his health issues were caused in part due to excessive drinking. In 2014, he had surgery to remove his gallbladder and appendix. These issues eventually led Avicii to retire from touring in 2016, though he continued to make new music.

He announced in 2016 that he would no longer perform live, following years of health problems caused by stress and alcohol abuse, as well as severe anxiety.

Avicii’s brother was en route to Oman to check on the fragile star when he reportedly took his own life, a source has claimed.

The source told People that “Avicii’s family spoke to him on the phone earlier that week and got very worried about his mental state”.

“His brother flew to Oman to bring him home and arrived only a couple of hours too late.”

The Swedish musician, whose real name was Tim Bergling, was found dead at the age of just 28 in the city of Muscat in Oman on April 20. He was reportedly staying in a resort on an estate owned by the country’s royal family.

A subsequent autopsy found “no criminal suspicion” in his death.

His devastated family confirmed last week in a poignant statement that he had left a suicide note and revealed that “he couldn’t go on”.

In a statement released recently, the family of Avicii suggested that suicide was the cause of his death. They wrote, “Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions. An over-achieving perfectionist who travelled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress.

“When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – music. He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace.

Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight.

Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive.

‘We love you, Your family.’

Since his tragic death, information has emerged about the rather reclusive celebrity, as it emerged he had a secret girlfriend and had also donated millions to hunger relief.  It’s believed Avicii amassed a net worth of $85 million (£60.6 million), but donated a significant portion to charity.

Back in 2012, the DJ conducted a 27-date US House for Hunger tour, where it’s believed he donated $1 million to hunger relief charity Feeding America.

Jayli explains ‘heartbreaking’ impact Avicii’s death had on the industry. Speaking about his fortune in 2013, he said: ‘I discovered when I started making money that I didn’t really need it. ‘When you have such an excess of money you don’t need, the most sensible, most human and completely obvious thing is to give to people in need.’

Reps for Avicii have declined to comment further on the DJ’s death.

In 2016 he told Billboard: “The scene was not for me. It was not the shows and not the music. It was always the other stuff surrounding it that never came naturally to me.

“I’m more of an introverted person in general. It was always very hard for me. I took on board too much negative energy, I think.”

In a newly rediscovered documentary following Avicii as he travelled around the world to perform, the musician hauntingly told how he would die if he continued living his life at such a frenetic pace.

“I have told them this. I won’t be able to play anymore,” he told producers in the 2016 documentary Avicii: True Stories, which was this week removed from Netflix without warning.

“I have said, like, ‘I’m going to die.’ I have said it so many times. And so I don’t want to hear that I should entertain the thought of doing another gig.”

The exhausted star had done 813 shows in eight years, and was disappointed by his fans’ reaction when he eventually quit touring.

“When I decided to stop, I expected something completely different,” he said in the TV special.

“I expected support, particularly considering everything I have been through. I have been very open with everyone I work with, and everyone who knows me.

“Everyone knows that I’ve had anxiety and that I have tried. I did not expect that people would try to pressure me into doing more gigs.

“They have seen how ill I have felt by doing it, but I had a lot of push-backwhen I wanted to stop doing gigs.”

Even Tim’s own friends predicted he would die because of his heavy drinking and stressed-out lifestyle.

Days after his death, his heartbroken girlfriend penned an emotional letter revealing their love story.

Completely baring her soul, Tereza Kaerová shared fond memories of her relationship with the DJ on Instagram.

In a lengthy post, Tereza said she hopes her son, Luka, remembers Avicii, detailed their romantic first date and spoke of the “physical pain” she’s felt since his death.

Tereza’s statement begins:

“Dear Tim, I’ve spent the last days waiting to wake up, waiting for someone to tell me that this is some sick joke, some awful mistake. I think it’s finally settling on me now and I will truly never get to see you again.

“The first couple of days I harassed your friends (are they SURE IT’S REAL?!, demanding proof, WHERE ARE YOU NOW?!) and googled articles to read that they had it all wrong. Every time I saw ‘RIP’ and ‘Avicii’ together in one sentence or an end date to your life, I felt shock all over again.

“When I saw they had changed your bio on Wikipedia from ‘is’ to ‘was’, I sobbed. I’d stare at it for minutes at a time, trying to decipher why it says that you died on April 20, 2018. It didn’t make any sense. You are too young and wonderful and I love you too much for you to have that written by your name.”

In the heart-breaking letter, she went on to say that she took Avicii’s sheets and pillows home so she could sleep in them.

She later said they had been planning to start a family together.

Sharing a number of intimate snaps of the couple on Instagram, she wrote:

“I was set on keeping our relationship private as I wanted it to be ours only.

“But I thought, if I’m going to share this with the world, it will be when pregnant with our child. Ohhh, how that plan went awry.”

Meanwhile friend Olivia Nervo, one half of Aussie dance act Nervo with twin Miriam, told The Sun:

“When I last saw Tim it felt like he was more confident and happier.

“Friends of mine who were good friends of his told me he was the happiest he’d ever been.”

Others spoke out after his tragic death.

Tim’s ex-girlfriend Racquel Bettencourt thanked the DJ in a heartfelt message for ‘teaching her what true love feels like’ as she paid tribute to the late Swedish DJ days after his death.

The Canadian model and blogger lived with Avicii for a year in Los Angeles until they split in December 2014.

“My heart is broken. Tim, it feels like it was just yesterday when we were inseparable,” she wrote alongside pictures of their around-the-world travels.

“We talked and laughed till sunrise. It was us against the world. Memories to last a lifetime.

“Through all of our ups and downs I wanted nothing more than to make sure you were healthy and happy and be there for you every step of the way. Give you life, something to look forward to, but the universe had different plans for us.”

Rita Ora broke down in tears as she held a minute’s silence for Avicii during a live performance.

The singer, who had collaborated with the Swedish superstar DJ on their chart-topping song Lonely Together, performed the track for the first time since his death at 538Koningsdag Festival in the Netherlands.

In front of 40,000 people, the blonde bombshell’s voice cracked as she talked about her “dear friend” Avicii and asked for total silence to remember him.

“I’m going to say something which is really, really special – I know you guys have had a drink, and I have also had a drink – because it’s going to be hard for me to sing this next song and I’ll tell you why,” she said on stage.

“I had the honour of collaborating with somebody who changed my life and he’s a really good friend of mine and I heard some DJs playing some of his music earlier.

“I haven’t sang his song that we did together, ever since he passed away – until today.”

Her bottom lip trembled as she spoke of the pain of losing him.

“So it’s going to be very hard for me to sing this next song. I’m obviously talking about the incredible Avicii,” Rita went on.

“We collaborated on the last song that he released together, so it’s going to be very tough for me to sing this next one. And before I do that, can you please all join me in having a minute of silence for him, because he was one of my dearest friends and I would really appreciate that. Can we do that together?”

As she bowed her head to pay her respects, the crowd fell quiet and many did the same.
