Ayodele Fayose Reacts to the Alleged Rigging of Kogi & Bayelsa Polls

Ayodele Fayose, former Governor of Ekiti State has taken to his verified twitter account to react to the Kogi and Bayelsa States Governorship elections which took place on November 16, 2019.

Recall that the Herald reported that Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa voted at Polling Unit 005, Ward 2, Toru-Orua community, Sagbama Local Government Area of the state, alleging that the All Progressives Congress of working with security agencies to hijack voting materials.

The Herald also reported that Olayinde Lawal, Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Kogi West Senatorial election inconclusive.

This is because the wide margin  of votes polled by Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Dino Melaye of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is lower than the number of registered voters in the affected areas where election was cancelled, in a report from Premium Times.

Fayose however decried the circumstances surrounding both elections, saying that they were against precepts of democracy.

He tweeted:

Today is another sad & dark  moment for our country & democracy going by the outcome of Kogi & Bayelsa election brazenly rigged in connivance with INEC & security agencies.The graveyard silence of Nigerians should however not be mistaken for consent of these shenanigans.I warned!
