The Chairman-designate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa has arrived the Senate Chambers ahead of his screening and confirmation by the Senate.

Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Babajide Omoworare ushered the nominee into the Senate Chambers as the screening session commenced.

If confirmed, Bawa, who is 40 years old, will be the youngest ever EFCC chairman.

He will also become the first core EFCC staff and non-police officer to head the anti-graft commission.

Recall that the announcement of his appointment by the presidency was greeted by criticisms over his alleged involvement in corrupt practices, although the EFCC said Bawa had no corruption record.
